Various advancements over the years have brought the weight of our androids down somewhat. Our Angel 1 personal companion androids weigh about 160 pounds and 188 pounds for the Angel 2 , while our general service androids weigh between 180 pounds for our new Sara Model and 320 pounds for the new heavy duty June Model.

Heavy duty general service androids can lift over a 500 pounds with one arm. Personal companion androids are almost as strong except they have a built-in regulator that keeps full power from being applied to their synthetic muscles. So they are not any stronger than an average human being. In an emergency, personal companion androids can use their full strength to save a human life.
Since the first android rolled off the assembly line in 2045 they have all been Three Laws (of Robotics) safe. In 2074 a programming bug and a flaw in the First Law of Robotics was discovered when an old Candy - Model accidentally killed her owner. The First Law states: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. The problem is that a robot has to recognize that what it is doing will cause harm to a human in order to obey any programming designed to prevent the robot from harming a human. After the incident in 2074 all androids come with the warning that physically abusing the android could cause the android to malfunction possibly creating a hazardous situation which could cause harm to humans and such abuse to the android would not be covered under the warranty. Despite this problem, the reality is that you stand a better chance of being hurt in a car, train, or plane crash or an accident around your house than you are of being hurt by an android.
